Known Issues for Smart-UPS & Matrix v3.1.0 fixed in sumx321.bin Problem: Email timeouts are not long enough. Symptoms: The SMTP server timeout is set to 8 seconds. This can result in email transmission failures. The timeout is increased to 60 seconds. Resolution: v3.2.1 ******************************************************************** Problem: Bug with Simple Signal Shutdown from PC+. Symptoms: If the server running PC+ in Simple Signal Mode is attempting to shutdown the UPS, and the Web Card is in between PC+ and the UPS, the Web Card could prevent the UPS from receiving the shutdown signal. Resolution: v3.2.1 ******************************************************************** Problem: Frequently Warmstarts. Symptoms: The Web Card may Warmstart frequently when in communication with Smart-UPS model UPSs. Resolution: v3.2.1 ******************************************************************** Problem: Communication lost when connected to Matrix-UPS Rev Y. Symptoms: The Web Card has a problem communicating to a Matrix-UPS Rev Y. This results in the inability to display status or allow control of the Matrix-UPS. Resolution: v3.2.1 ******************************************************************** Problem: SNMP Input Frequency reported incorrectly. Symptoms: The Input Frequency reported from SNMP may be incorrect or even return a nonnumeric value. Resolution: v3.2.1 ******************************************************************** c-1. Web/SNMP Management Card Wizard v2.0.1 ********************************************************************** a. Overview The Web/SNMP Management Card Wizard, hereafter referred to as the Wizard, is a Windows application designed specifically for pre-configuration and reconfiguration of multiple Web/SNMP Management Cards. New Features * Autodiscovery of unconfigured Web/SNMP Management Cards (AP9606) over the Network with the ability to configure TCP/IP network settings. * New Windows Help format. What are the system requirements for running the Wizard? The Wizard will run on Windows 95, 98, and Windows NT 4.0 Intel-based workstations. Where can I get an updated version of the Wizard? Updated versions of the Wizard will be available as a free download from APC's ftp site. Login as anonymous and supply your e-mail address. Updated Wizard software will be distributed without cost, however access to some of the new features may require an upgrade to the Management Card's firmware for which there may be a charge. For details on how to upgrade the Management Card's firmware see the Addendum (.\doc\addendum.pdf). What Management Card settings does the Wizard allow me to configure? Using the Wizard, all of the Management Card's settings, except URL names and links, can be configured locally (via the serial port) or remotely (over the network via FTP). Does the v2.0.1 version of the Wizard have any limitations? The main limitation of the Wizard is that you cannot configure any UPS settings either locally (via the serial port) or remotely (over the network via FTP). b. Known Issues for v2.0.0 fixed in v2.0.1 Wizard ********************************************************************* Date: 09/24/99 Problem: Long path names cause FTP files transfer failures. Symptoms: FTP files transfers fail and report no connection errors. Resolution: 1. Move the files that are to be transferred to a directory with a shorter path. 2. v2.0.1 ********************************************************************* Date: 09/28/99 Problem: When the Wizard is run on a computer with DNS enabled and is not connected to a network or does not have a valid DNS name, the Wizard appears to hang for approx. 2 minutes. When the Wizard is run on a computer without a NIC interface, an error is reported. In both cases, network transfer options in the Wizard are enabled when they should be disabled. Symptoms: Wizard appears to hang when started. After a couple of minutes, it reports that it could not get a Host IP. Or the Wizard reports that it could not get the Host IP. Resolution: 1. Ignore the error. Once the Wizard start it operates correctly, but FTP transfer options will not work since it is not connected to a network. 2. v2.0.1 ********************************************************************* Date: 01/01/00 Problem: Can't save the file from the FTP transfer screen after clicking the Close button, because it generates an invalid file. Saving it anywhere else will not cause a problem. Symptoms: Can't save a file. Resolution: 1. At the prompt for the FTP transfer screen with the close button selected, choose 'No' when asked to save. 2. v2.0.1 ********************************************************************* Date: 01/01/00 Problem: Unable to set date using the Wizard. Symptoms: Card date is not set to the date specified in the Wizard Resolution: 1. v2.0.1 ********************************************************************* Date: 03/08/00 Problem: Uploading a config file from the Card causes a runtime error after it tries to retrieve the Measure-UPS settings when using a MasterSwitch AP9211 or AP9212. Symptoms: Runtime Error 380 Invalid Property Value error. Resolution: 1. v2.0.1
